China mourns victims onboard crashed plane

China has expressed condolences to the families of victims onboard the crashed Air France jet which included nine Chinese citizens.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang expressed the the government's condolences at a regular news briefing on Thursday.

Nine Chinese citizens were on board Air France Flight 447, which crashed in the Atlantic Ocean en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. 228 people on board were believed to be killed. Qin said the Foreign Ministry has required Chinese embassies in France and Brazil to establish details about the Chinese passengers and help to deal with the aftermath.
