Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is in the capital of Brunei, where he's held a meeting with leaders of the Association of Southeast Asean Nations. The latest China-ASEAN summit is taking place at the International Convention Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The summit opened with remarks by Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. In a speech that followed, Premier Li detailed the new Chinese leadership's policy towards ASEAN, regional security, economic and trade links, infrastructure projects, maritime cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
"It has been ten years since China and ASEAN forged a strategic partnership. We have achieved a great deal in the past decade. This relationship has developed new momentum with many achievements. We have deepened political trust. We have offered each other support on many major international and regional issues. And we have maintained a good neighbourly and harmonious co-existence," Li Keqiang said.
