The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on December 17, 1997. The short form "blog" was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word "weblog" into the phrase "we blog".
“博客”(weblog)一词最早是由Jorn Barger于1997年12月17日创造的。其简写形式“blog”的出现则归功于Peter Merholz的玩笑之举。他将“weblog”一词分解成了“we blog”。
Before blogging became popular, digital communication took many other forms , including e-mail, Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) and so on. The modem blog evolved from the online diary, where people keep a running account of their personal lives. Based on click ratio , blogs can be ranked. Nowadays, blog has been accepted and sought after by general public.
