These are used to compare 2 people or things
比较级用于对2个人或物进行比较
Generally for one syllable adjectives, we add 'er'
一般来讲,单音节形容词只需在后面加er
'colder' 'sooner' 'faster'
例如 'colder' 'sooner' 'faster'
For two syllable adjectives ending in 'y'
以y结尾的双音节形容词
we add 'er' and the 'y' changes to an 'i'
需将y变为i ,再加er
'Happier' 'easier'
例如 happier, easier
When there are two or more syllables in an adjective
两个或两个以上音节的形容词
we use the word more.
在形容词前加上more这个单词
'more difficult' 'more carefully'
例如 'more difficult' 'more carefully'
Some adjectives are irregular.
有些形容词是不规则的
For example, 'good' becomes 'better', 'bad' becomes 'worse'
例如 good应变为better bad应变为worse
