British media recently reported the University of Cambridge is asking for TV dramas screenwriters' help in down playing its elite education image.

There's no doubt that as one the best universities in the UK and the world, Cambridge has cultivated many influential people in all fields, who contributed a lot to the development of the Human civilization.

The article introduces that the University's ideology, however, has changed from elite education to civil education. And it has been recruiting students from all walks of life.

Citing the changes undergone in Cambridge, the paper argues that the concept of elite education in China was somehow distorted in many universities. The paper points out some universities are offering non academic subjects such as golf playing in order to pursue what they believe, the concept of elite education.

The article concludes that the society is demanding for more open universities with public access so that academic corruption can be reduced.
