What do parents want most from their adult children?

An article in the 'Shanghai Daily' says a recent survey shows that regular visits are ranked by far the most important thing for aged parents.

The survey, conducted by the Gerontological Society of Shanghai revealed that more than 90 percent of respondents hope their kids will come home to see them regularly when they are old.

The survey finds parents also want their kids to call them every day, ensure they are healthy and happy all the time, tell them their own worries and troubles and listen to their news.

Wu Hanzhang, who runs oldkids.cn, a website providing services for the elderly, says care from children is much more important than money.

However, because of work pressures these days, he said, many young people hardly find any time to listen to their parents' concerns anymore.
