The 6th China-Asean Expo and the 6th China-Asean Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) will be held in Nanning between Tuesday and Saturday.
Thousands of attendees from both home and abroad will attend the five-day event. The organizers have enrolled more than 1,200 volunteers to meet with guests from 10 Asean member countries as well as visitors from countries beyond the China-Asean region.
Wu Ying, a volunteer from Guangxi University expresses a welcome message in English.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to China. We are happy to help you here. It's our pleasure to see you. And Nanning is a very beautiful city. It's called 'Green City'. We hope you'll have a really good time here - just to enjoy it."
As a junior student majoring in English, Wu Ying says that more than 200 students from her university are working at the upcoming expo as volunteers.
"We are volunteers from Guangxi University. We are divided into two groups, one works at the exhibition center; the other group is in charge of helping foreign reporters at the press center. We can provide services in several languages, including English, Thai and Vietnamese."
In fact, volunteers will offer services in a total of eight languages, namely Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Lao, Burmese, Malay and English, according to Liu Zhijie, the spokesman of CAEXPO.
The organizers hope to give all in attendance an unforgettable experience.
As well as advanced volunteer and language services, the organizers have vowed to provide more considered services in order to create a sound business environment.
Zhang Chaomei, vice Director General of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce briefed the media on the organizers' efforts:
"(We) opened temporary direct chartered flights between Nanning and major Asean cities, improved reception and hotel, airports and currency services to ensure top quality service for attendees."
For example, passengers of direct chartered flights can take a free shuttle bus between the airport and the hotels and Muslims can enjoy Muslim food specially served during the expo.
