Japan's foreign and defense ministers held talk with their US counterparts today. They're expected to discuss missile defense after the DPRK's recent test. Japan's defense ministry is reportedly planning to install a U.S.-made aegis assured defense system.
The officials were also expected to discuss implementing new UN Security Council sanctions against the DPRK. This is the second Japan U.S. 2+2 negotiations since April of 2015 and the first since Donald Trump became president. On Wednesday some 300 Japanese and US personnel carried out live-fire artillery training in northern Japan.
