Fox on love, with Ashley Papa. The start of a new year is the perfect time to set some new relationship goals. If you're looking to make the bond between you and your sweetie strong, licensed marriage and relationship therapist, Carrie Krawiec, says to set these three goals.
First, commit to saying and thinking more positively about your partner. "If you have a moment when you're thinking 'Oh my gosh I'm so annoyed he left the toilet seat up,' to counter balance that with five positives like 'he did scrape off my car this morning and he picked up the towel like I asked and we had a nice weekend together.'"
Krawiec's next suggestions requires just a small adjustment to your daily schedules. Developing some routines to implement even one small point of connection each day, whether it's a routine around your kiss goodbye in the morning or your kiss hello.
Finally, Krawiec says to find out each other's love language whether through touching, affirmation, gifts and love accordingly.
