sen-/sent-表“感觉”
sense n.感觉；意义 v.意识到；觉得
[记]音似“深思”、“三思”。深思是感觉得深，感觉得深才能知道意义。
[搭]make sense有意义 make no sense没有意义
[例]Besides teaching,teachers should help students to build their sense of responsibility.It doesn't make any sense if the so-called talented people cannot take responsibility after they step out of schools.除了教书，老师更要帮助学生建立责任感。如果所谓的人才缺失责任感的话，教育就失去意义了。
nonsense n.废话
[记]non-没有；-sense意义。没有意义的话，是废话。
[搭]talk nonsense说废话
[例]We are embraced by enormous nonsense every day,so it is important to discern what our real goal is and who we really care.我们每天都生活在很多无稽之谈中，所以清醒地认识我们的真正目标和真正在乎的人是非常重要的。
sensitive a.敏感的；灵敏的；易受伤的
[记]sensi-感觉；-tive很。对一件事很有感觉，所以很敏感，很灵敏。
[串]灵敏的人心太敏感，容易受伤。
[变]insensitive a.不敏感的 sensitivity n.敏感；敏感度
[搭]be sensitive to对某事很敏感、灵敏

sensible a.理智的；明理的
[记]sensi-感觉；-ble可以。可以控制自己感觉的人，很理智。可以被说道理的人，很通情达理。
[变]sensibility n.理智
[同]reasonable rational（“调皮的后缀”中讲过了哦！）
[例]Generally,people in love are not sensible.They are always too sensitive to the small changes of their lovers.恋爱中的人都不怎么理智。他们爱人的一点小变化也会让他们敏感得不得了。
[番]有本大家应该都听过的书，Pride and Prejudice,（《傲慢与偏见》）。它的作者叫做Jane Austin,她还写过另外一本书，叫做Sense and Sensibility,中文名《理智与情感》。（注意，中文和英文反了。）我们可以看出，同一人的风格是有统一性的，这两个名字都很压头韵，自己读一读体会一下啦～
consent n./v.同意；赞同
[记]con-共同；sent-感觉（sense的变化）。我们有共同的感觉，彼此赞同。
[搭]consent to同意（con-开头的词的词组一般接to！）
[例]The staff ought to ask their boss for consent before making an important decision.员工在作重要决定前应该要征得老板的同意。
present a.出席的；现在的 n.礼物 v.提出；呈现
[记]pre-在前；sent单词本身是“送”的意思。送礼要在求别人之前送。
[串]送礼物是现在出席聚会的习惯，礼物呈现了你的心意。
[变]presence n.出席；存在 presentation.介绍；陈述
[例]Regardless of the absence or presence of the economic interest,we must devote a great portion of money to the protection of the wild animals.不管有没有经济上的好处，我们都应该花大钱来保护野生动物。
presently ad.现在，目前
[记]表“现在的（present)”的副词。
[近]nowadays,currently
[反]previously ad.以前
[例]Presently in China,food safety issues have aroused（引起）nuge attention from both the masses and the authorities concerned.在今天的中国，食品安全问题引起了从平民到政府的严重关注。
represent v.代表
[记]re-一再地；present-陈述，出席。一再地出席，一再地陈述，代表了一个团队。
[变]representative a.典型的，有代表性的 n.代表（人）
[搭]be repressentative of代表某人或某事
[例]Major cities are not repressentative of the real condition of the present China.大城市的情况并不能代表在中国的真正样子。
send v.派遣；打发；送；寄出
[记]sen-感觉。-d音“低”。感觉很低，打发走，派头出去。
[搭]send for召唤；派人去请（for表“为了”，为了一个东西、人而遣人去召唤他）
[变]send-sent-sent（动词变化）
[例]You can call a meeting by sending e-mails rather than by calling the participants.开会发通知用电子邮件比打电话好。
senior a.年长的；地位较高的
[记]sen-感觉；-ior比较级er的变化（如superior叫做更好的）。对世界有更多的感觉，年纪大了。
[反]junior a.年轻的；地位较低的（Super Junior是很年轻的偶像）
[另]junior读音似“就你二”。senior似“看（see)你二”。年轻的时候谁没“二”过；年长以后就看别人“二”了。
[注]junior泛指在每一个层级里比较低级的，比如说“初中”，junior high school；于是“高中”就是senior high school；“大三年级”叫做junior，“大四”叫senior。
[真]Market modification also means searching for increased usage among present customers or going for a different market,such as senior citizens.市场调整也意味着增加当前顾客的使用量或是针对不同的市场群体，比如老年人。（CET－4 01年6月阅读第四篇）
fundamental a.基础的；根本的 n.根本原则（复数时）
[记]音似“方的（fun-da）馒头（men-tal)”。地基什么的一般都是方形的。主的馒头是基础。根本原则也是为了成“方圆”而立的规矩。
[例]The iPhone has fundamentally changed the ways in which we talk,we share,and we play.苹果手机根本性地改变了我们聊天、分享和娱乐的方式。
[注]写作中一讲到“改变”，就要去修饰它。“大变”叫做fundamentally changed;“小变”叫做slightly changed。
mental a.精神的；智力的；脑力的
[记]音“门偷”。把门偷掉的人精神和智力应该有问题。
[例]An increasing number of people complain that they suffer from the pressure from the deadlines in company.越来越多人抱怨，公司规定的完成工作的期限给他们的精神造成了压力。
experimental a.实验性的
[记]-ment结尾的名词变成形容词一般就加上al,比如“环境的”就叫做environmental,“政府的”是governmental。
[注]注意变形容词后重音的变化。
[变]experiment n./v.（做）实验
[例]The success of this experimental product will accelerate the company to launch(推出)the official model.这个实验性产品的成功将加速该公司推出它的正式版本。
sentence n.句子；判决 v.判决
[记]身（sen）体疼死（ten-ce）了，因为被判了刑罚。
[串]判决就是在念一些残忍的句子。
[搭]be sentenced to被判处某刑罚
[例]Having been sentenced to ten years' life sentences,the criminal went mad and was sent to a mental hospital.当被宣判十年有期徒刑后，那名罪犯疯掉了，然后被送进了精神病院。
senate n.参议院
[记]参议院经常为了一个问题吵三天三夜，需要不停地叫人送（sen-）吃（ate)的。
[变]senator n.参议员
parliament n.国会
[记]音：开国会的时候，很多平民挤不进去，只好“爬俩门”上（par-lia-ment)。
[注]Senate是美国的国会上议院，Parliament是英国的国会。其实不用记那么清楚，考试不可能问你：“Senate and Parliament,which belongs to the U.S?”
congress n.大会；国会
[记]congre-类似于“恭喜”；ss就是ss大王。恭喜思思，进了国会。
