An Englishman, William Lindesay, may be the only person on Earth who has traveled on foot for 2,470 kilometers by following the ruins of the Great Wall from Shanhaiguan to Jiayuguan. When he finished he felt more relieved than happy; it had been such a long adventure. Yet his interest in the Great Wall has grown even stronger since the trip. In fact, he was so crazy about it that he bought a farmhouse near one of the most beautiful locations along the Wall. He now thinks the farmhouse is his home and that he is really living his dream.
