After graduating from university, Wang Junyan became a reporter for a local newspaper. She said she chose to be a journalist, because it is important to report news and to reveal the truth. I asked her if there was any particular moment that made her realize the importance of journalism, and she replied that it was after she was assigned to investigate a business scandal. Her report on the scandal helped the people who had been affected, and it also helped the government investigate the company. "That is when I realized the importance of journalism," said Wang Junyan. "Writing that report wasn't easy, but I realized that people needed to know the truth, and so I persevered," Wang Junyan told me. Her perseverance paid off because she won an award for the report." I discovered then that so long as I was committed to the truth, and I am prepared to persevers, I will be able to produce high quality reports. "That's exactly what Wang Junyan has continued to do as the face of Universe TV. I asked Wang Junyan what she liked most about being a reporter, and she said she found it interesting and challenging.
