Prayer
Yu Guangzhong
Please leave a kiss on my head,
I need not be crowned with a laurel vain;
Please leave a kiss on my hand,
I need not wear a diamond ring.
Please kiss me gently over my eyes,
To dry up the lonely tears here;
Please kiss me gently on my breast,
To remove the sad lumps there.
Deep at night shivering with chilly stars,
How I am dying for your warm mouth
To cover my icy lips with your kisses!
Never shall I sing the sorrows of this earth.
