随着九月份新学期的开始,即将返校的学生开始为新学期购置各类文具用品,因受猪流感影响而沉寂下去的文具和其他学生用品市场又迎来了一个新的销售高峰。

The September back-to-school shopping season in China is in great shape, after governmental injunctions against attending vacation classes and the quarantining of a large number of students as part of A/H1N1 flu prevention measures.
作为防控甲型H1N1流感措施的一部分,政府曾下令禁止暑假期间办培训班,并对大量学生实施了隔离。不过进入九月份以来,中国的返校购物季高峰已经到来。
在上面的报道中,back-to-school shopping season就是“返校购物季”,相应的,在返校购物季进行的销售就是back-to-school sales。而目前各大商场都在主推的“十一长假购物季”则是holiday shopping season。
其实,文具市场(stationery market)也有自己的淡季(low season)和旺季(high season),刚开学的时候往往是文具市场最火的时候,这时候也是文具商贩的繁忙时节(rush season)。现在猪流感疫情余威尤在,因此如果文具商贩们不把握好这一时机多卖一些商品(sell the products in good season),也许下一个dead season或dull season(萧条季节,淡季)又要到了。
Back-to-school即“返校”,如back-to-school costs(返校费用)。Back-to-school也可指“失学儿童回到校园”,例如:back-to-school fund是“失学少年返校基金”。
