口语技巧：How to define
当我们问中国同学一句话，“Where is the book?” “Where is the water?” 很多同学会用英语的第一反应回答， “The book is on the table.” “The water is on the desk.” 但如果换一种说法， “What is a pen?” “What is television set?” 很多同学可能会说“The television set is 电视机。”这个其实不是在界定这个东西，而是在翻译。这样情况下的语言交流当中会产生问题。所以，我们训练的目的是当出现这种问题时，把大家交流时的第一反映变成英语状态。
What is the TV? TV is a box.(X) 这样就不能往下进行了。
What is a Sun Wukong? SWK is a monkey. （X）这样就没有把孙悟空放到一个合适的位置。
What is fly?
The fly is a kind of insect. It can fly. Fly is really small, ugly, nasty, and dirty. It shows up in nasty places like nasty bathroom. People hate it. And we want to kill it.
在How to define中，我们不需要做科学的探讨，仅是用一些common sense来给于非专业化的定义，目的是让对方迅速了解你在说什么。

The university actually is a kind of organization. In university, we could get higher education. You can get degree such as bachelor’s and master’s and so on.

It’s a piece of paper or document. (X)
Visa is a kind of permission issued by a foreign embassy. This is something that will give you the right to enter into another country.
Q3: What is Majiang?
Majiang is a kind of game. It is a traditional Chinese game, then usually it requires four players and it has more than a hundred tiles, and it is very popular game in China.
Q4: What is the job interview?
Job interview is a kind of process, because actually you need to send out your resume and maybe wait for a phone call and then you come to company and people will give you a meeting or maybe a test. The company wants know if you are qualified for such a job.
