作者及朗读者介绍

W·S·默温（W.S.Merwin，1927—），美国著名诗人，“新超现实主义”诗歌流派的代表人物。他曾凭借《移动的靶子(The Moving Target)》和《扛梯子的人（The Carrier of Ladders）》分别获得业内最高奖项“全美图书奖（National Book Award for Poetry）”和“普利策奖（Pulitzer Prize for Poetry）”。他于1971年和2009年两度获得“普利策奖”。2010年起，默温被美国国会图书馆（Library of Congress）任命为第17任“美国桂冠诗人（United States Poet Laureate）”。

他的诗作貌似松散、甚至神秘，他善于用闪忽的、蜻蜓点水的语言将自然和日常经验上升到一个更高的、扑朔迷离的境界中去。
默温自1976年起定居夏威夷，专心研究禅宗，种了700余棵珍稀的棕榈树。他一般每年出门两三次，参加些朗读活动，平时只是坐在家里看太平洋。“我没有电子邮件，我也不想要这东西。而且我不喜欢跟别人讲话，我想过那种非常安静的生活。”他说。
