whimper 多指用悲痛的、断断续续的声音哭泣。往往是由于失去保护或依靠而哭泣。它常同恐惧连在一起用。

A lost child is whimpering for his mother.迷路的孩子哭叫着找妈妈。

blubber 又哭又闹

指又哭又闹。使用这个词的人往往对哭闹者持嘲笑或轻蔑的态度，所以它多少带有一点贬义。有时候出于幽默，也可用来强调不适当的大声哭泣。

A child your age shouldn't sit about blubbering over a lost toy. 像你这么大的孩子不应为丢失了一个玩具而坐着又哭又闹。
