1. 国宝 national treasure
大熊猫被视为我国国宝，“国宝”的“宝”我们用的是treasure，指“极贵重的物品，珍宝”。熊猫也是我国的象征（symbol of China），因为它是一个Chinese native，这里的native指的是“土生土长在中国的动物”，也可以做形容词使用。
The giant panda is adored by the world and is considered a national treasure in China.
大熊猫是中国的国宝，备受全世界喜爱。
The giant panda has often served as China's national symbol.
大熊猫经常作为中国的国家象征。

2. 熊猫外交 panda diplomacy
“熊猫外交”指的是我国通过赠送或巡展与商业性租借熊猫，来开展外交工作，让大熊猫宝宝也担任“友好使者”（the envoy of friendship），拉进与其他国家的关系。除了“熊猫外交”，世界上还有各种通过文化手段的外交，如英国的“王室外交”（Royal diplomacy），美国的“篮球外交”（basketball diplomacy）等。
China has sent pandas to about 20 countries as a diplomatic tool to improve ties with foreign nations.
中国已把大熊猫送往大约20个国家，作为改善与外国关系的外交工具。
