【口语积累】

1. 古装剧 costume drama

costume指的是“（戏剧或电影的）戏装，服装”，所以costume drama指的就是穿着这种戏服的剧。英文中还可以用period drama来表示“历史剧，时代剧”，也就是“古装剧”。欧美国家一般没有“偶像剧”这种类型，所以没有一个对应的表达。如果一定要用英文表达“古偶剧”我们用说costume drama starring idols。“热播剧”可以用hit drama，popular drama，buzzworthy series（强调引起热议），trending show（强调很流行大家都在追）。

2. 妆容 makeup

如果我们要形容一个人的妆容，可以用natural（自然的），impeccable（无可挑剔的），exquisite（精致的）等。“淡妆”是light makeup，“浓妆”则是heavy makeup。“化了妆”的“化”英文中可以用wear这个动词。

She retouched her makeup.

她修整了一下自己的妆容。

Her impeccable makeup was the talk of the evening.

她完美的妆容成为了当晚的话题。

I only did a subtle makeup today.

今天我只化了不太容易看出来的淡妆。

She wore a light makeup look to the office, opting for a simple tinted moisturizer and lip balm.

3. 惊为天人 stunning

stunning可以形容“极好的，令人震惊的”；类似的表达还有astonishing，它侧重于令人惊异或者难以置信；breathtaking，常用来形容美景；mind-blowing，形容震撼人心，令人印象极深。

Her stunning performance in the play earned her a standing ovation from the audience.

她在这部剧中的表现太惊艳了，赢得了观众的起立鼓掌。

Andrea was an astonishingly beautiful young woman.

安德烈亚是个美到惊为天人的年轻女子。

The view from the mountaintop was absolutely breathtaking.

从山顶看到的景色真是令人惊叹。

The special effects in the movie were mind-blowing.

4. 反差 stark contrast

这部剧中，陈都灵饰演的角色前后反差很大，这个“反差”英文我们可以用contrast来表示，“反差大”可以用stark，sharp，jarring，significant等来表示。想表达“反差萌”，则可以说cute with huge contrast.

Modern Shanghai is a city of contrasts.

现代上海是一个反差很大的城市。

The two attitudes stand in sharp contrast.

两种态度，黑白分明。

There is a significant contrast between her appearance and her inner self.

她的外表和内心有着巨大反差。

This character undergoes a remarkable transformation, with a sharp contrast between their previous and subsequent demeanor.
