1.4 My friend Stephanie
had an accident yesterday
when she was returning from school.
She was riding her bike on Wilson Street.
She was riding behind a bus.
She couldn't see very well
because it was raining.
Suddenly,a dog ran out into the road
in front of the bus.
The bus driver tried to stop.
When Stephanie saw the bus stopping,
she put her brakes on,
but the road was wet
and she wasn't able to stop in time.
She hit the back of the bus
and fell off her bike.
For a few moments,she couldn't move.
A pedestrian was walking on Wilson Street.
She stopped to help Stephanie and,
after a few minutes,she was able to stand up.
Luckily,she wasn't badly hurt,
just a bit shaken However,
Stephanie's bike was broken,
and she couldn't ride it home.
However,she was very close to her house
in fact she could see it
from the scene of the accident
so she was able to walk home with her bike.
She couldn't use her bike
for a few days after that.
