第一、词汇精讲
1. reply
双语释义：say or make an answer, in speech or writing; respond
Vt. 以口头或书面形式）回答, 答复，回复
语法用法：~ (to sb/sth); ~ (with sth)
典型例句：I replied with a short note. 我回了一封短信。
He replied that he was busy. 他回复说他很忙。
2. appear
双语释义：present oneself publicly or formally
Vi. 公开或正式露面
典型例句：The tenor soloist is unable to appear tonight because of illness.
男高音独唱者因病今晚不能演出。
I have to appear in court on a charge of drunken driving.
我被控告醉酒驾驶而要出庭受审。
3. curl
双语释义：（cause sth） to form into a curl or curls
Vi. （使某物）弯曲
语法用法：~ (sth) (up)
典型例句：She has curled (up) her hair.她已经卷过头发。
Does her hair curl naturally?她的头发是生来就卷的吗?
4. stir
双语释义：move a spoon, etc round and round in (a liquid or some other substance) in order to mix it thoroughly
Vt. 搅动, 搅和, 搅拌（液体等）
语法用法：~ sth (with sth)
现在分词：stirring
过去式和过去分词：stirred stirred
典型例句：This stranger stirred his tea with a spoon at my house.

5. regret
双语释义：feel regret about (sth sad, annoying, disappointing, etc)
Vt. 对（伤心﹑ 恼人﹑ 失望等事）感到惋惜﹑ 懊悔﹑ 遗憾
现在分词：regretting
过去式和过去分词：regretted regretted
典型例句：If you go now, you'll regret it.（接代词）
假若你现在就走, 一定得后悔。
I regret that I cannot help. （接由that引导的宾语从句）
很抱歉, 此事爱莫能助。
I regret what I said.（接由what引导的宾语从句）
我很后悔不该说那话。
I regret to say the job has been filled. （接动词不定式）
十分抱歉, 那个工作已经有人做了。
6. murmur
双语释义： say (sth) in a low voice
Vi. 低声说（某事）
语法用法：~ about sth
典型例句：He was delirious, murmuring about his childhood.
他精神恍惚, 低声叨念着童年往事。
John is murmuring words of love into her ear.
约翰向她喃喃耳语, 倾诉爱慕之意。
He murmured that he wanted to sleep.
他咕哝着说他想睡觉。
