Unit 10 Careless Annie
Last week Annie cut herself badly in the art lesson.
She was cutting a piece of paper when the scissors slipped.
They made a deep cut on her finger.
'Ouch!'she cried. 'What's the matter, Annie?'the art teacher asked.
'I've cut myself with the scissors, Annie said.
'I was using them to cut this paper.'
The teacher took Annie to see the school nurse.
'This girl has cut herself,nurse,' she said.'Please take care of her.'
The nurse washed Annie's finger.
She used cold water to stop the bleeding.
The bleeding soon stopped.The nurse used a plaster to keep the cut clean.
When Annie got home, her mother said,
'What have you done to yourself?'
I've cut my finger,' Annie said.
'How did you do that?' her mother asked.
'The scissors cut me,' Annie told her.
'The scissors didn't cut you,did they?'
her mother said with a smile.
'You cut yourself, didn't you?
The scissors didn't jump up and cut you, did they?'
Annie laughed.'No,' she said. 'I cut myself.'

Annie:A piece of cloth.
Susan:What do you use to make its feet?
Annie:Chopsticks.
Susan:What do you use to make it move?
Annie:My fingers.
