depress
双语释义：make (sb) sad and without enthusiasm
[vt.] 使（某人）忧愁, 消沉, 沮丧

第二、短语精讲
1. have nothing to do with
讲解：这个短语很常用，意思是“与某人或某物无关”。介词with后面既可以接something，又可以接somebody。
e.g.You had better have nothing to do with him.
你最好不要跟他交往。
e.g.I have nothing to do with the matter.
我和那件事没有关系。
2. tell a lie：说谎
e.g.You degrade yourself when you tell a lie.
你撒谎时就贬低了自己。
e.g.He would think it beneath him to tell a lie.

3. lead a life
讲解：这个短语和live a life意思相同，意思是“过生活”。如果要说过着什么样的生活了，在life前面加上名词或是形容词等修饰词语，也可以在life的后面加上介词of，在加上名词等。例如：lead a cat and a dog life（过着水火不相容的生活）。
e.g.You can lead a life of undisturbed peace ever afterwards.
你今后能安安静静地过日子，无人登门打扰。
e.g.We lead a quiet life in the country.
我们在乡下过着安静的生活。
4. have honor：有尊严，有荣耀
讲解：honor在这里是“尊严，荣耀”的意思。我们可以在honor前面加上形容词或名词等修饰词语，表示有什么样的尊严。
e.g.We're not gentlemen and we have no honor, have we?

5. have a reason：有理由
讲解：这个短语reason后面可以接动词不定式，也可以接由why引导的同位语从句。
e.g.I have a good reason not to be your friend!
