剧情:《环太平洋》是发生在两个世界（平行宇宙）中的故事：其中一个另类宇宙是近未来的地球，在这个世界里，2012年11月发生了一件重大事件——第一只kaiju（类似哥斯拉的巨型怪兽）由太平洋海底的一个洞穴中出现，接着攻击了人类城市。自遭到巨型怪兽的攻击后，此后数十年间，不断有怪兽从海底的未知世界冒出，攻击洛杉矶等太平洋沿岸城市。怪兽的数量和种类越来越多，攻击次数也越来越频繁，破坏程度越来越严重，人类世界始终笼罩在死亡与恐惧的阴影下。

为了抵御海洋怪兽们越来越频繁、破坏性越来越大的攻击，人类启动了一项名为“贼鸥”（Jaeger）的军事计划，组建了一支配备有最顶尖科技装备的军队对来犯的怪兽进行有效还击。组成“贼鸥”军队的个体是武装到牙齿的巨型“机甲战士”，每个“机甲战士”由两名人类技师操控，装备有厚重的铁甲与最先进的攻击武器。

The first Kaiju made land in San Francisco. The second attack hit Minoa. And the 3rd one hit Kabul. And then we learn this was not gonna stop. In order to fight monsters, we created monsters of our own who needed a new weapon. The Jaeger program was born. Two pilots are minds on memories, connect a man and machine become one.

Today at the edge of our hope, the end of our time, we’ve chose to believe in each other, today we face the monsters at our door, today we are cancelling the apocalypse.

It is pretty cool.
