Good First Impression
良好的第一印象
A young doctor was just setting up his first office. He had just rented a beautiful office and had it furnished with equipment and fittings.
一个年轻医生刚刚开设了自己的第一家诊所。他刚刚租下一间漂亮的办公室，并布置好器具陈设。
Then his secretary told him there was a man too see him. The doctor wanted to make a good first impression by having the man think he was successful and very busy. He told his secretary to show the man in.
这时秘书告诉他有人找他。年轻人想给来人一个良好的第一印象，使人认为自己是工作繁忙的成功人士。他让秘书把来人领进来。
At that moment, the doctor picked up the telephone and pretended to be having a conversation with a patient. The man waited silently until the "conversation" was over. Then, the doctor put the telephone down and asked the visitor, "Can I help you?"
这时，他自己拿起话筒，假装在和病人通电话。那个人一声不吭地等他把“电话”打完。然后，医生放下话筒问道：“你要看病吗？”
To which the man replied, "No, I'm just here to connect your telephone."
那个人回答：“不，我是来给你接电话线的。”
