Avril Lavigne Teams With Husband Nickelback's Chad Kroeger on New Album

The pop star talks about working with her husband on the new self-titled album.

We’re thrilled to be joined by one of the world’s most successful recording artist, Aril Lavigne, who’s sold more than, oh 30 million albums, 50 million singles worldwide. Today she’s releasing her fifth studio album, Aril Lavigne. It’s already no.1 in 13 countries. And she’s gonna perform her new single Let Me Go in just a moment. Aril, what’s not the love with Aril Lavigne, you’re right. With it, I mean, you’ve got new music, you’ve got a new husband, you’re going out on tour, we’re saying life is good.

Yes, it’s a lot going on, it’s very exciting, but today is amazing. I just have my fifth record out and to see all you guys, all the fans, it’s so cool.

And this new music is wonderful, and we know that your now husband Chad, you collaborated with this. So you’re not supposed to mix business with pleasure, but you fell in love and now you’re married. I think it worked out the way round.

You break the rules, never. Tell us more about the new music though.

Ok, well, this song is a single, it’s called let me go, and it’s my first duet, and it’s with Chad, and it was the first song we wrote in the studio. I’m like he has to be on the song. And then now we’re together, so it’s kind of cool. Because he’s there with me, and so I’ll pull him up on stage, probably on tour, stuff like that.

Who’s not to see you with Nickelback there?

Who would have imagined they ended up together, but on retrospect, they kind of fit each other, maybe. Who knows.
