Wal-Mart eyeing legal action over donkey meat recall

The world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart says it’s considering taking legal action against "responsible parties" after DNA testing showed traces of fox meat in the donkey meat it’s been selling in China.
Wal-Mart has recalled the meat products after DNA testing by a government agency in eastern Shandong province showed it contained the meat. It’s supplied by the Dezhou Fujude Food Company also in Shandong.
Customers who bought it are being offered compensation. It also says it plans to add DNA testing to its meat products in China.
Wal-Mart, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, has 404 stores in China. A spokesman for the company says only a select number of stores were affected, but didn’t give a specific number.
