2月份消费价格指数上涨1.4%
Figures from China’s National Bureau of Statistics show that the annual consumer inflation recovered in February, exceeding expectations, but producer prices continued to slide.
The consumer price index, or CPI, which is main gauge of inflation, grew 1.4 percent year-on-year in February.
The reading quickened from the 0.8-percent gain in January. But the producer price index, or PPI, which measures wholesale inflation, plunged 4.8 percent. This marks the 36th straight month of decline, which points to continuing weak market demand.
