中国在美投资达652亿美元
China says that the United States is now the Chinese mainland's third-largest outbound direct investment destination, after Hong Kong and Australia.
Vice Minister of Commerse Zhang Xiangchen, said Chinese enterprises had set up over 3,000 companies in the United States by the end of 2014, and had invested over US$ 65 billion, providing nearly 80,000 jobs through direct investment.
But due to the relatively late arrival of Chinese investors, this still only accounts for one percent of the US's total foreign direct investment. Zhang also commented on the potential rate rise by the U-S Federal Reserve, saying that, if implemented, it will only have a limited impact on China's investment in the country.
Of course the host country's macroeconomic policies, including interest rate policies, will be put into consideration when Chinese companies make investment moves. but more importantly, they will seek their development opportunity from the perspective of global industry.
Data over the first eight months of this year shows Chinese companies remain highly interested in investing in the US. China and US are highly complementary in the areas of investment, so we believe Chinese investment in the US will cotinue to grow at high-speed," Zhang Xiangchen said.
