High hopes on China to win 11.8 bln pound deal
中国有望赢得118亿英镑合同
The UK Chancellor George Osborne launched the bidding for the HS2 high-speed railway project in September. He also urged Chinese companies to bid for seven contracts to build bridges, tunnels and earthworks. The total contracts are worth around 11.8 billion pounds. The project would connect cities including London, Birmingham and the north.
China's CSR Corporation announced to bid on the project earlier this year, with competitors ranging from Alstom, Siemens and Japan's Hitachi. But many analysts have faith in the CSR to win the bid.
