"Good god," said Arthur, "it looks just like the sea front at Southend."	“上帝啊，”阿瑟说，“看上去像英格兰南角的海岸。”
"Hell, I'm relieved to hear you say that," said Ford.	“该死的，这么说我可真的松了口气。”福特说。
"Why?"	“为什么？”
"Because I thought I must be going mad."	“因为我想我肯定快疯了。”
"Perhaps you are. Perhaps you only thought I said it."	“也许你是的。也许你只是以为我这样说过。”
Ford thought about this.	福特思考着这个问题。
"Well, did you say it or didn't you?" he asked.	“好吧，你这样说过吗？”他问。
"I think so," said Arthur.	“我想是的。”阿瑟回答说。
"Well, perhaps we're both going mad."	“那么，也许我们俩都快要疯了。”
"Yes," said Arthur, "we'd be mad, all things considered, to think this was Southend."	“是的。”阿瑟说，“我们会疯掉的，所有这些东西都让人觉得这里就是南角。”
"Well, do you think this is Southend?"	“好吧，你认为这里是南角吗？”
"Oh yes."	“哦，是的。”
"So do I."	“我也是。”
"Therefore we must be mad."	“所以说我们肯定已经疯了。”
"Nice day for it."	“今天天气不错。”
"Yes," said a passing maniac.	“是的。”路过的一个疯子说。
"Who was that?" asked Arthur	“他是谁？”阿瑟问。
"Who — the man with the five heads and the elderberry bush full of kippers?"	“谁——这个长着5个脑袋、满嘴喷粪的家伙吗？”
"Yes."	“是的。”
"I don't know. Just someone."	“我不知道。只是某个人而已。”
"Ah."	“哦。”

Ford thought about this.
