Additionally, Frost's Descent was a time for ancestral worship, when people expressed respect for their ancestors and gratitude for the harvest through rituals.
俗语说：“霜降不刨菜，必定会受害。” 这句话提醒农民在霜降时节要抓紧时间收获蔬菜，以免受到寒霜的侵害。此外，霜降时节也是祭祖的时刻，古人通过祭祀活动，表达对祖先的敬意和对丰收的感恩。
The ancient Chinese believed that Frost's Descent was a crucial moment in the shift between yin and yang, with yin energy gradually strengthening as all living things began to withdraw and hibernate. It is also a prime time for taking in nourishment. People begin eating more beef and lamb to build up strength in preparation for the colder months.
中国古人认为，霜降时节是天地间阴阳转换的重要时刻，阴气逐渐增强，万物开始闭藏。霜降也是冬补的好时机，人们通过进补牛羊肉来增强体质，为寒冬做准备。
