Former US president Donald Trump declared victory in the presidential election early Wednesday morning, as the Republican led Kamala Harris in projected Electoral College votes in the presidential election.

Multiple US media made the call after declaring Trump the projected winner of Pennsylvania and Alaska, which got him to exactly 270 electoral votes.

The Electoral College is a group of people appointed by each party.

The total number of electors is equal to the number of members in Congress: 538.
选举人团代表的总人数和国会议员人数相等：都是538人。
Each state gets electors based on its population. So, Wyoming has 3; New York has 29.
每个州的选举人团代表人数基于该州的人口决定。比如怀俄明州有3名代表，纽约州的代表有29名。
So, if Candidate A wins the most votes in, say, New York, (s)he gets all 29 electoral votes.
如果候选人A赢得了纽约州选举人团的大多数投票，他/她就赢了29张选举人团票数。
The goal is to get to 270, which is just over half of 538.
最终赢得270张选举人团票数者获胜，即538张票的半数。
