“加减乘除”你会了吗？

又到上数学课的时候了。Cindy对这门课可不怎么擅长，因此常被老师提问、以督促学习。今天，老师把Cindy叫起来，问到：“How much is 9 minus 9?” Cindy想了半天也不知道是多少，只好说：“I don't know.”老师很生气：“What a fool! You see, if I put nine coins in your pocket, but there is a hole in your pocket and all of them fall out, now what is left in your pocket?”Cindy回答到：“The hole.”哈哈！

挺好笑的笑话吧！不过，笑完了，呱呱要问你一个问题：加减乘除用英语都怎么说啊？我们刚刚讲的笑话里就藏着一个呢！对啦，“减”就是minus，那么“加”怎么说呢？

Father: What is 4 plus 4?
Cindy: I don't know.
Father: You have four apples, and I will give you four more. Now how many apples do you have?
Cindy: I don't know. We usually use oranges in class.
哈哈！不管桔子还是苹果，“加”都是plus!

乘呢，就是东西要加倍，英语里multiply 这个词就是表示“乘”的。“除”就是要把东西分开，被几除就是分成几份，英语里就用divide 这个词来表示。

Mother: How much is 4 multiplied by 4?
Cindy: 16!
Mother: How much is 8 divided by 2?
Cindy: 4!

哇！真是奇迹啊！Cindy虽然不怎么会加减法，乘法和除法还挺精通的嘛！
