He also visited the home of 62-year-old Guan Youjiang, one of the original 18 pioneers of the contracting system.
Hu Jintao said, "(applaud) I know you cared about three things and the first is about the stablity of land contracting system. The comprehensive contracting system is the basis of the CPC's agricultural policy. Please rest assured that the current contract relationship is stable and will not change in the long term."
Hu Jintao said the government will also grant more operational rights to farmers. As China's economy develops, the central government will reinforce farmer-friendly policies, and invest more to improve rural living standards and the prosperity of rural areas.
Hu jintao visited two dairy producers in Bengbu city, where he inspected the production line and test facilities.
Hu Jintao said, "Food safety concerns both people's health and the long-term survival of the milk industry. Producers should learn from Sanlu's failure and strengthen management to ensure the safety of dairy products. "
Provincial officials briefed the president on their work progress. Hu Jintao re-affirmed the importance of rural reform and encouraged them to be open-minded and promote comprehensive development in Anhui.
