China to boost ties with India, Spain
While promoting multilateral cooperation on global issues, China is moving for closer bilateral ties with India and Spain in facing common challenges and protecting common interests. President Hu Jintao proposed more exchanges and cooperation when he met the visiting Indian and Spanish Prime Ministers.

The top-level meeting between the two largest nations in Asia focus on their common ground in development.
President Hu Jintao noted their upgrade in ties in recent years, and confirmed China's continuation in a stable and friendly neighborhood with India.
He urged expanding their common interests, as the two most populous developing countries share the tasks to boost their economy and improve their people's livelihood. Hu Jintao expressed China's willingness to coordinate with India on major international and regional issues, and to work together to protect the common interests of the two peoples in pursuit of the proper rights of developing countries.

In facing up to the threats from the global financial turmoil, the two sides agreed to enhance exchanges in an effort to stabilize world economy and financial market.
In his meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Hu Jintao called for more frequent exchanges, as the two countries welcome their 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties. He also called for further cooperation in dealing with the financial crisis, and other challenges such as food safety and climate change.
