二、Listen and Learn 内容透析
1. I wouldn't have taken him for a waver. 如果是我，我不认为他是在犹豫。take for: 认为。waver: n.挥动者，动摇，踌躇。
2. No guy in the history of the world has ever hated you. 到目前为止，从没男人讨厌过你。in the history of the world: 在世界历史上。比如：America has the greatest military in the history of the world. 美国有着世界历史上最优秀的军队。
3. I've waited my entire adolescent life for a date with this girl. 我已经等了整个青春的时光, 只为了和这个女生约会。entire: 全部的，整个的，全体的。entire vacation: 整个假期。adolescent: adj. 青春期的，青少年的；n. 青少年。
4. Come on, there's no such thing. 得了吧，没这种说法。come on在这里表示的是一种责备，不耐烦的语气。比如说：Come on, don’t sit there dreaming. 得啦，别坐在那儿空想了。
5. You only get one shot, with a girl like Serena. 对于像Serena这样的女孩, 你的机会只有一次。Shot在这里指的是“机会”，get one shot就是“得到一个机会”。Get a shot还有一个意思是“注射”。比如：You need to get a shot. 你需要打一针。
6. Blew: blow(打击，风吹)的过去式，在俚语中blow也有“错过(有利机会)，放过(机会)”的意思。
7. What have you got to lose? 你有啥好损失的？当有人犹豫不决，始终做不了决定，你就可以使用这句话。
8. No, nothing except my last shred of dignity. 没有，除了我那点可怜的自尊。shred: n.碎片，少量。shrewd：adj. 精明的；狡猾的；机灵的。dignity: 尊严。
9. I love the plan, but, uh, you need a better outfit. And maybe a shower. 我喜欢你的计划，但是你需要打扮一下，最好再洗把澡。outfit: n. 机构，用具，全套装备，一套衣服；v. 配备，供应，得到装备（与介词with搭配）。a silk outfit: 一套丝绸服装。I was outfitted with new shoes. 我添置了一双新鞋。shower: 淋浴，阵雨。take a shower：洗淋浴。Our beloved teacher, you are the spring shower that moistens our hearts. 亲爱的老师，您就象那春天的细雨，滋润着的心田。
