Have you any idea how many different kinds of books there are?
No, I don’t. But I’m sure you are going to tell me.
Well, I don’t know exactly. But I do know there are a lot.
For example?
For example, there are novels and text books, fact and fiction.
Ah, yes. There are many different kinds of novels, you know.
Like crime novels, science fiction and horror and …
Romance.
Yes. I love romance novels.
What about non-fiction books?
Oh, like biographies and autobiographies.
Yes, and true life stories. Those can be very interesting.
And then there are books on all sorts of other things, like science.
Yes, and medicine and geography and history and travel.
Sure. And what about children’s book? There are thousands of those.
So we still don’t know how many different kinds there are.
But I think there are too many to count and too many genres.
