June 13 is a rather wonderful day for Dallas Mavericks for it is the first time that the team got the champion in NBA. The MVP went to the Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki. He seems rather happy for he would marry soon. But just behind the huge success, there is a lot to tell.
6月13日绝对是小牛队的大日子。球队终于历史上第一次捧起NBA总冠军奖杯，球队核心人物德克•诺维茨基也毫无争议地勇夺总决赛MVP。看起来，诺维茨基很是开心啊，因为他也马上会结婚了。别只看到这双喜临门的欢喜，背后又是一段辛酸往事啊！
Nowitzki wasn’t always hoops talent. He played team handball and tennis till he was 13 or 14, and then switched to hoops after watching the basketball practice. He met Holger who was the former German national basketball captain at the age of 16. Holger saw his potential and offered to train him.
诺维茨基不是一直都是篮球高手，他在13,14岁时还练的是手球和网球。一直到观看了篮球训练后，他才转向篮球。16岁的他很快便被前德国篮球队队长霍尔格看中，于是，在霍尔格的带领下，诺维茨基开始了篮球生涯。
Even after entering NBA, every summer, Nowitzki would fly back to hometown to train himself with Holger. The training includes 90-minute hand-walking and fencing. Besides, he has to pivots, leaps, and shoots with a 22-pound vest. All these workouts enable him to grab a defensive rebound, outlets and sprints upcourt like a swing-man.
即使登陆了NBA，诺维茨基每年夏天都会飞回家乡和霍尔格一同训练。霍尔格让他完成90分钟的手着地行走和击剑训练，他也得穿着22磅重的运动背心练习持球转身，跳跃和投篮。这些训练最终使他能像多能球员一样抢防守篮板，发动快攻以及向前场冲刺。
But his diligence doesn’t allow him to win fame overnight. He never got that famous as Kobe Byrant or LeBron James. He just tries his best to play well and to achieve success for the team. In 2006, he got the chance to win the champion but he failed. Some basketball experts commented harshly on him. It seems he would never get the chance to win.
但是，这些勤奋却不能让他一夜成名。比起科比•布莱恩特和勒布朗•詹姆斯，诺维茨基的名声要小的多。他只是尽自己最大的努力去完成比赛，拿下比赛。2006年，他本该拿到总冠军，可是他却失败了。铺天盖地的批评和谩骂向他涌来。似乎，他也不再会有机会染指总冠军戒指了。
Life has to go on. He still plays in NBA, he continues his training, and he says nothing to defend himself. Under that kind of circumstance, maybe the best way to prove your value is to offer the results. But, in 2007, Nowitzki and his team were defeated again by Golden State Warriors in the first round.
生活还得继续。他还是在NBA场上活跃着，他继续训练，却不为自己辩解什么。在那样的环境下，也许拿出成绩才能证明自己。但是2007年，小牛队遭遇“黑八”，止步季后赛第一轮。
This defeat brought Nowizki more criticisms. But the belief of Nowitzki would never fall that easily. Finally after 13 years’ fighting in NBA, he got the champion with his team and fans. At that moment, people seem to forget about his failure, they speak highly of him while ignore and criticize James.
这场失利将他更加拖入批评的泥潭，但是他的信念却没有倒下。终于在NBA征战13年后的他，在今年捧起了冠军的奖杯。颁奖的那一刻，人们似乎忘记了他从前的一切失败，对他给予高度赞扬，而作为对手的詹姆斯则受到了百般奚落。
But Nowitzki can feel James. He said so “It’s easy to get attack in NBA especially you are kind of superstar. It seems that you should be like god. I have been punished for 13 years and hope that the champion can finally win me some good words.” This is Dirk, he just holds his belief and keeps going on.
但是诺维茨基却能理解这种感受。他这样说：“在NBA中，球员很容易背上骂名，你越是巨星，越是灵魂人物，被骂得就越惨。我已经被骂了13年了，我希望这次的胜利能让我摆脱这一切。”这就是德克，坚定信念，勇往直前。
