The notorious cheap skate finally decided to have a party, explaining to a friend how to find his apartment, he said,

1.notorious

adj.臭名昭著的；臭名远扬的；声名狼藉的；恶名昭著

eg:The country is notorious for its appalling prison conditions.

2.explain to

explain可以用作及物动词，也可用作不及物动词。及物动词的用法为 explain to sb sth 或 explain sth to sb。即它不能直接跟双宾语，在表人的间接宾语前，总有一个介词to。

3.elbow
