The final grand slam of the tennis season as the US Open is underway at Flushing Meadows. China's Li Na, the fifth seed on the women's side, opened up her run against Olga Govortsova of Belarus on Monday. The 2011 French Open champion and runner-up in Australia this year, would be impressive as Li needed just 64 minutes to punch her ticket for round two.
And Li would jump out to a great start in set one, breaking twice to take a 4-love lead. Govortsova would finally hold her serve in the fifth game of the opener and although Li wasn’t able to pick up another break, she would cruise to take set one 6-2 as she looked in control of her game.
