As a new mode of family, DINK is revolutionary It overthrows not only the recognized Chinese traditional concept of standard families-having a wife and children, but also the traditional view of raising children to support parents in later life and continuing the family line.
A recent survey found that most DINK couples are the 1980s generation. They have higher income. Among couples whose total monthly income is more than 5000 yuan , 13.7% of them has opted for a DINK family unit. But among couples whose total monthly income is less than 1 500 yuan, the number is just 5.5%.
Sociologists believe that the popularity of DINK shows that Chinese nowadays have more choices. DINKs pay more attention to their present individual happiness. They cherish the relationship between husband and wife while they make light of parenthood. They obviously have a modern way of thinking to attach importance to themselves.
