World’s Loneliest Frog Gets Valentine’s Date

“Romeo,” an endangered, orange-bellied water frog living at a museum in Bolivia, has a chance for love this Valentine’s Day. A year ago, his caretakers, who were concerned he might be the last of his species, posted a dating profile for the frog. This helped inspire conservationists to go on an expedition in search of more frogs of this species. Five frogs were found, and scientists think they may have found a potential mate. If all goes as planned, “Juliet” will be introduced to Romeo on Valentine’s Day with the goal of trying to preserve this Bolivian species.
