People hearing without listening

that voices never share
And no one dare
disturb the sound of silence
人们缄口却倾述心声
人们罔闻却声声贯耳
人们写歌却从没嗓音分享
静默之声没人敢打扰

"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows”
“傻瓜”，我说，“你见识不长

Hear my words
that I might teach you

But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoedin the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
to the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
And the words that it was forming
人们向自己塑造的霓虹神灵膜拜祈祷

And the sign said:
"The words of the prophets
are written on the subway walls
And tenementhalls
And whisperedin the sound of silence."
