Wow. Before I began, couple of things,

two guys that are classmates in this year's Hall of Fame Class, and great friends, people I respect and admire, Ray Allen and Jason Kidd.
我要说一下另两位今年也入选名人堂的、我的密友、也是我尊重的人--雷·阿伦和贾森·基德。
They, they both reached out to me this last week, and I think they were a little concerned at the length of my remarks here because I do talk for a living.
上周他们不约而同地找到我，我觉得他们有些担心我的演讲会过于冗长，毕竟我是靠口才吃饭的。
And then just the other day, my wife said, you know, she knows me,
我的妻子很了解我，前几天她告诉我，
she said I was very long-winded that I've never met a camera, a microphone or a stage that I don't love.
我废话太多，而且我又从来没有在摄像机、麦克风或台上上演讲过，我也不喜欢这些。
She reminded me of the five 'Bs' here tonight. She said, "be brief, brother, be brief."

So Tamia, I will try my best to be brief.

First and foremost, Patrick Ewing.

I fell in love with the game of basketball, watching you dominate both in college and in the NBA.

Your intensity -- combine with your stellar play -- it inspired me to dream,

the dream that I could one day play at the highest level in basketball, both in college and in the NBA.

Thank you, Pat for being my basketball hero, my friend and inspiration.

And then of course, coach Krzyzewski.

Now when I played for you, coach, your nickname was Coach K,

I came to you with this dream and you gave me the blueprint.

I learned how to lead, how to win, how to compete, how to play together as a unit,

even how to slap the floor when I'm playing defense and of course, how to be a champion.

But most importantly, you taught me to believe in myself.

You gave me permission to be great, that it was okay to be great.

Of course, coach, I could, I could go on and on about what you mean to me and how much I've learned from you.

But I really just truly want to thank you one for recruiting me 30 years ago,

but also for your leadership, your friendship, and your example,

Thank you for being that inspiration and thank you for those impossible shoes that I tried to fill during my Pistons years.

You guys are just appearing out of nowhere I love it.

Although we were, although we were adversaries on the courts, though, I always respected how hard and how competitive you played.

But when you went through your medical challenges and you fought through them to return to the court like you did,
你面临医疗挑战，并战胜伤病重回赛场的经历，
that inspired me to do the same when I went through mine.

You not quitting played a bigger role than you'll ever know and me not quitting too.
你不放弃的精神对我的影响要比你知道的更深远，我也不会放弃的。
Thank you for your perseverance and you never give up mentality. Thank you for your friendship and your inspiration.
