Intensive Reading

One man came to me. We talked. He made some jokes. They were funny. He asked me about the weather. I told him about my fear during the storm. “What storm?” he said, “The little wind?” he laughed.

有一个人向我走来。我们聊了聊。他开了几个玩笑。笑话很好笑。他问我有关天气的情况。我告诉他我在暴风雨中的恐惧。“什么暴风雨？”他说，“那些微风吗？”他大笑起来。

He offered me a drink. I drank a lot. Soon I was drunk. I slept very well at night.

他请我喝了一杯。我喝了很多酒。很快我就喝醉了。我晚上睡得很好。

The next day, I forgot about my home. I forgot about my comfortable bed. I started to dream more about travelling by sea.

第二天，我忘掉了家。我忘掉了舒适的床。我开始更加梦想航行世界。

The next three days, the wind wasn’t good. We went very slowly. Then the wind was stronger. We went faster.

接下来的三天，风不是很顺，我们开得很慢。然后风变大了。我们开得更快了。

The next day, another storm came. The storm was bigger. I was really scared. I saw that the other men were scared too.

第二天，又来了一场暴风雨。这场暴风雨更大。我真的很害怕。我看到其他人也很害怕。

Notes:

1.make jokes: 开玩笑，“对……付之一笑”可用make a joke of sth.。

2.offer: 提供，“给某人提供某物”可用offer sb. sth.或offer sth. to sb.。

3.dream about: 梦想，也可以用dream of，后可跟名词或动名词。
