Question: What questions did Robinson have for God?

But we couldn’t be together. I thought about my family very often. I wished the best for them. I also thought about all the people who could see the moon. I imagined the places where they lived. I felt connected with all the people. Sometimes I felt connected with the whole universe.

但我们不能在一起。我经常想起我的家人。我祝他们都好。我还想到所有能看到月亮的人。我想象他们住的地方。我感到我和所有人是联系在一起的。有时我感到我和整个宇宙是联系在一起的。

I also thought about God. I had some questions for God. I asked him, “Why am I on this island? What is the reason for it? Why am I still alive when my friends are dead?”

我还想到了上帝。我有一些问题问上帝。我问他：“为什么我在这座岛上？理由是什么？为什么我的朋友们都死了而我还活着？”

I didn’t have answers to many of these questions. But I trusted God. I believed that he knew what he was doing.

我对很多这些问题没有答案。但是我相信上帝。我相信他知道他在做什么。

Then the rainy season started. The rainy season continued until the middle of October. This was my first year on the island. When the rains ended, I returned to my valley house. I saw that the fence was all green.

然后雨季开始了。雨季一直持续到十月中旬。这是我在岛上的第一年。当雨停之后，我回到了我的山谷房子中。我看见栅栏都变成绿色了。

New leaves were growing everywhere. This wasn’t only beautiful. It was also useful because my house was hidden. It was really hard to see the house.

新叶到处生长。这不仅是美丽的。而且还很有用，因为我的房子被藏起来了。真的很难看见房子。

Notes:

1. connect: 连接，与……有联系，搭配为connect sth./sb. with sth./sb.。

2. reason: 理由，“做某事的原因”为reason for (doing) sth.，或者接why引导的从句。

3. trust: 相信，信任。

4. rainy season: 雨季，相对应的，“旱季”则是dry season。
