Gree Employees Claim Meng Yutong's Dismissal for Breaching Company Policies

The recent resignation of Meng Yutong from Gree has garnered attention. Dong Mingzhu, the chairman of Gree Electric Appliances, had previously expressed her belief that "Meng Yutong would be groomed to become the next Dong Mingzhu."

According to a "former colleague" of Meng Yutong, she did not leave her position voluntarily but was actually "fired" due to violating company regulations. The colleague stated that Meng Yutong was frequently absent from work to engage in external business activities and had not been seen working overtime in the past two months.

Meng Yutong, who used to serve as Dong Mingzhu's secretary, was transferred to the marketing department last December. Reports suggest that the reason for the job transfer was also related to her involvement in business activities for other brands. An employee from Gree's marketing department disclosed that since Meng Yutong joined the department in 2023, her presence in the office has been rare. The department's monthly attendance records reveal an absence rate of over 80% for her.
