APT: What’s The Meaning Behind Rosé and Bruno Mars’ Song?
New Zealand and South Korean singer Rosé, a member of the popular K-pop group Blackpink, and American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars released the song APT on October 18, 2024. Just recently, fans gushed over Rosé’s collaboration with global pop star Bruno Mars. The song easily captured the hearts of people around the world and this became a viral social media hit.
APT is a playful song with a punk rock tune. It was easy for online users to vibe with the song because of its catchy line “Apateu apateu”. This also featured an easy choreography of stacking hands gesture.
Based on the article in Philstar Life, APT is a shortened word for “apartment”. In Korea, this word is pronounced “apateu”, one of the most famous drinking games in Korea. In this game, a player would say a number, and other players should stack up their hands from bottom to top corresponding to the number that a player gave. Whoever lands on top at the last count has to take the drink.
