Tencent Integrates DeepSeek Across Multiple Products, Reaching 1.4 Billion Users

Following a gradual rollout of DeepSeek integration on WeChat, Tencent has confirmed that several of its other products are exploring the same.

According to Chinese state media, Tencent revealed that WeChat Search has started using the DeepSeek AI model to enhance its search capabilities. The integration is currently in a beta phase, where users will notice an "AI Search" option in the top search bar. Clicking this allows them to freely access the full DeepSeek-R1 model for a richer and more diverse search experience.

In addition to WeChat, other Tencent products are also in the process of integrating DeepSeek. These include Tencent Cloud's AI Code Assistant and the Tencent Yuanbao app, both of which have incorporated the DeepSeek-R1 model.

DeepSeek, an open-source model, offers both paid API access for developers and free usage via the DeepSeek app. Other companies can also deploy DeepSeek-R1 on their own servers.
